Mandy Hall is a passionate fermenter and cook.  After a long love affair with fermentation, she set off to Tennessee for a Fermentation Residency with Sandor Katz. That experience of learning from a world authority cemented her existing love for fermenting, so much that Mandy decided to undertake further qualification and is also currently studying for a Science/Fermentation degree at university.


Upon returning home to Adelaide, South Australia, Mandy joined MasterChef Australia for Season 11. One of Adelaide’s food luminaries, Mandy is busy with Love Ferments and Food, and also generously donates much of her time to causes and charities such as Foodbank.

After a brief encounter at Hakko, Mandy has become a friend and partner with the Longhouse, a guiding light and support to our team in many facets of Longhouse activities from Private Events & Functions to Lunch & Learn and class activities. Her extreme passion for food, ferments and all things to do with cooking makes for an intoxicating relationship that we see as having a long future…
