Savindri Perera, second runners-up on MasterChef Australia 2024, brings the vibrant flavors and rich heritage of Sri Lankan cuisine to the forefront. With a deep-rooted passion for Sri Lankan food and its history, Savindri’s culinary journey began in her family’s kitchen, learning treasured recipes and techniques from her late mother. Although she holds a degree in neuroscience and psychology, Savindri’s true calling lies in the culinary world. Her mission is to educate people about the diversity and richness of Sri Lankan food, combining her love for food history and technical precision with a heartfelt dedication to her cultural roots. Post MasterChef, Savindri aims to share the captivating essence of Sri Lankan cuisine with a wider audience, turning her lifelong passion of seeing Sri Lankan cuisine in the mainstream, into a celebrated reality.
